But the way it has been garnering eyeballs and voice bytes on television , I just thought of putting in my thoughts here. I am not privy to the deal nor am interested in knowing all the clauses and sub clauses , but I do understand one basic underlining fact. Even if the deal doesn't allow India to test ( though there are counter points on this) , it does give India much needed energy supply. We would rather be happy with regular supply of power than have an option to test which in the end may never be executed. We have our nuclear weapon arsenal and that is enough detterent and God forbid if we got involved in a Nuclear war...one bomb is enogh to ruin generations ..you don't need 100 in your stockpile. And come to think of it are we really serious on saying we can trade much much needed enery requirements for nuclear testing!!!

Pray India gets the deal.

A lil bit of IPL in my life...contd

Finally Rajasthan made it. Rajasthan Royals turned out to be a surprise finalist in IPL. They were not a team many backed but they for sure made everybody take notice of them. Cheenai was probably only about Dhoni and his Rs 6 cr pay package...not sure who else was part of it..guess hyden and hussey at the begining. I was not a keen follower of IPL and am not even now...but there is so much frenzy about it that I am slowly getting sucked into its charm..or should I say vice- like grip.

I cared a dime what the teams were upto in IPL ...for me it didnt matter. But I was daily hearing voices of exuberence in office about the encounters of the previous day. There were guys who were so charged up about the performance of their team that it was hard to ignore all this. And when the royals entered the final at the cost of dare devils, my phone kept on beeping with mesages from my rajashthan friends...The royal were all over delhi. I never imagined that the club culture ala EPL would bring out so much emotions out of ordinary people. The format seems to be a winner and the city versus city thing is here to stay.

I don't know how my rajasthan friends are gonna celebrate their teams victory...but I am already imagining the kind of reception I am gonna get at office if they Win. It surprises me though that both the teams in the final are linked to the BCCI office bearers...is it a sheer coincidence..I am not saying!!!

Six Packs,

If Shahrukh can do it so can I...6 pack abs afterall are not that difficult to achieve.Positive thoughts for sure. But having a permanent flab around my waist, it would take more than positive thoughts.

I chalked out my plan. no fats,no junk food,no watching TV for long hours, no outside food, lots of water, pranayam, jogging, fruits excercise etc. I planned to wake up early and go for a jog... and for that I got a new pair of sneakers..afterall you need to be well equipped to wage and win a war. Got low cal sweetners and lots of fruits. I was on a mission. At work, I told everyone not to ask me for lunch as I would be carrying sprouts and fruits as my lunch. They were impressed and some even complimented me for my bravado. Though they had a wry smile on their lips too!!!

Day 1 of mission:

I woke up at 6... got ready and put on my new sneakers... ahh they looked good. Drove to the park .. the weather was cool.. with gentle breeze blowing across. here were people running in the park and also some who were sitting on the benches enjoying the breeze. I began with small warm up.. ah the muscles were woken up from their slumber...by legs were shouting at me..( probably saying..you want us to run with all that load on us!!!) But i cared a lil..like a true pro I went on doing my job. Completed 4 rounds of the park and was still fresh. God, I can do it so easily. I had a plenty of water and drove back. Got ready and reached office. Hey you are looking fresh...they complimented..( Good work, I patted my self). Lunch time and I true to my words stuck to the homemade food. The day went by and i was as fresh as ever. In the eve...headed home whistling away the blues.. Had dinner and the day was so cheerful...........

WAKE UP....its late. You have to reach office somebody shouted. Ah I woke up and realised all that was a dream..and now the nightmare was about to begin. It seems we have resigned to our destiny and have nothing to offer.

Heard the address of Raj Thakeray and the kind of abusive language he was speakin would have put a even criminal to shame. As the crowd kept on cheering his retorts became even nastier. Encouraged by his trash even his sidekicks had enough gumption to target people of a particular region. The matter of migrants is a very important issue and needs to be addressed on top priority but it needs minds of sane people to address to this important issue not unguided missiles like Raj. Surprisingly he has got away with everything he has said or threatned to do.

The even worse tragedy happened in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Innocent people got killed and maimed for no fault of theres. As th images of dead and injursed kept hitting our tv screens, It sort of disgusted me. Can't we spare the families of victims from the agaony of seeing their loved ones in that sate on TV/papers. I remember, when the twin towers were attacaked in US , they maintained the dignity of the dead and hardly showed any such visuals. Our media needs to understand the difference between real and reel life tragedy's.

It is so painful but can somebody please stop these mindless hatered and violent incidents. The only saving grace, the people have more or less maintained restained in their reactions. Pray that this restain remains strong during all tough times...

IPL tamasha

I wanted to saty away from cricket and IPL, but i guess one can hate it, love but can't ignore it. Though this format of the game has nothing for the poor old bowlers, it does bowl the maidens over. Multi crore pack packets, glamour of bollyd thrown in , foreign players to boast about and a blitzkrieg of advertising both on print as well as Television has guaranteed that this tournament would be discussed in the drawing rooms as well as the boardrooms.

I don't personally have a fair knowledge about what it would be creating for Indian sport in general but I guess it is loosly based on the way NBA is promoted in US. And the players who get millions playing for their clubs hardly bother to don the colour of their country.. There have already been few retirements from international cricket which has probably resulted due to this fast track dose of cricket ( Including ICL).

IPL or ICL what ever you may call it, but it is not the cricket i knew of . No hard feelings though , I couldn't atleast imagine to see harbhajan hitting out on a fellow indian player in any other format. Maybe just maybe , This might bring up the scum that was lying deep down in the Indian/foreign dressing rooms.

time pass

It was just the normal day in mumbai... maddening crowds on roads, overbooked trains and the usual acrimony on streets...I was new to the city and found the bustling pace something quiet extraordinary. People people everywhere but a breathing space nowhere.

Being new I had that courage even think that I would be stolling in the platform , the train would come and I would board it effortlessly. How mundane... and for next hour or so on platform I couldn't even fathom where a particular coach halts!!!. Mumbai..

Mumbai though has quiet a different face too... The timepass!!! Sitting on the benches near Gateway.. I was intrigued by a shouts of a particular brand of hwakers..They kept on pitching in "TimePass" , and I wondered what excatly were they selling. in a city where you hardly get to notice time what can be used to pass Time? and I got my answer within no time, It was a small pack of peanuts!! And believe me they are quiet a hit with the people over there. I couldn't but get amused by the irony that this city that boasts of some of the richest people, a hectic and pacy lifestyle , glamour and its the "peanuts" that bring in contentment and joy to its people.

Salaam Mumbai.

I thought and then I felt

Nothing unusual at the first site... same old room same old furniture and same old thoughts that were occupying the mind. Just about had my dinner and was going through the pages of the morning papers which I had missed out due to the early morning rush hour. Some people walking down the road probably burning the flab...I was admiring their efforts though.

Finished with the gazing part of it and slipped into the bed...the thought of waking up early in the morning and reaching office was not a pleasent way of ending the day or so I thought....

It must have been only few winks and I felt a sudden movement of my bed... was i floating on the backwaters of kerala... oops no the i could see the celling over me moving.. the floor was dancing around... the windows were moving back and forth... and the lights ...hey they were still on but the poles were not!!! what happened.. ah nothing just that silly old Earthquake

India in Indies

Finally the moment is here...
